Cavan–Monaghan is a 5-seat border constituency spanning both counties. Sinn Féin's Matt Carthy topped the poll and was elected alongside running mate Cathy Bennett, with Fianna Fáil taking two seats (Brendan Smith and Niamh Smyth) and Fine Gael's David Maxwell claiming the fifth.
